Karthik (Farhan Akthar) is an introvert who lacks confidence in dealing with day to life challenges and feels trapped in his average job that produces lesser than average results. Shonali (Deepika Padukone) ignites into Karthik’s life when he gets employed in a company where he meets her as his colleague. Karthik’s boss treats him with a negative attitude and everyday he has to confront his boss's insults. On the other hand, his colleague Shonali portrays an independent, classy and confident woman who remains unaware of his secret love for her.
